MBA Fellow (Harvard Business School) – 645 Ventures
645 Ventures is seeking an exceptional second-year MBA student at Harvard Business School to join us as an MBA Fellow. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a leading early-stage venture capital firm.
The Fellow will play a key role in identifying insights and sourcing early-stage companies and founders within the Harvard ecosystem, helping bring high-potential opportunities to the attention of the 645 Ventures Investment Team. A core focus of this role is expanding our network across Harvard’s student and alumni communities, especially among talented founders, operators, and investors.
Program Details:
- Duration: Semester-long, with the possibility of extending into a second semester by mutual agreement
- Location: Remote from the Harvard campus
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Investment & Research Team
Key Responsibilities:
- Targeted Networking: Utilize your deep knowledge of the Harvard startup and tech ecosystem to enhance 645 Ventures’ presence on campus. Develop and execute engagement strategies that connect the firm with top entrepreneurial talent and innovation hubs.
- Deal Sourcing: Conduct targeted outreach within the Harvard early-stage startup community. Build relationships across key touchpoints such as incubators, accelerators, entrepreneurship groups, and research labs.
- Due Diligence: Collaborate with the Investment & Research team to gather information and assist in due diligence on startups you identify.
- Investment Committee Participation: Prepare briefing materials and participate in investment committee meetings for the companies you source and advance through our investment & research evaluation process.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Strategic and creative thinker; able to bring structure to ambiguous problems
- Prior experience in venture capital, private equity, consulting, or investment banking
- Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint/Google Slides
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Skilled in synthesizing large datasets into actionable insights
- Team-oriented and willing to take on tasks big and small
- Passion for startups, venture capital, and building meaningful relationships
Additional Information
- Contract position (6 Months, or longer based on interest)
- This is a paid position
- Hours can be flexible based on the Fellow’s schedule, but would like to request up to 5-10 hours per week
