About the role

We're looking for a Founding Software Engineer to help build the core platform powering global insurance payments. You'll own features from concept through production, influence technical direction, and help establish the engineering culture that future teammates will inherit.

This is an opportunity to solve complex technical problems where quality, precision, and scalability matter. When software moves money, getting it right isn't optional.

Who you'll work with

You'll work directly with the founders and collaborate closely with Product and Customer Success to design, build, and launch new payment capabilities for insurers around the world.

What you'll do

• Own features from technical design through production.
• Build secure, scalable APIs for global payment workflows.
• Develop intuitive customer and internal experiences using React.
• Improve platform performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Participate in architecture and technology decisions.
• Review code and help raise engineering standards.
• Write clear technical designs and documentation.
• Help launch new payment products for our customers.

What success looks like

Within your first year, you'll have:

• Become the owner of one or more core areas of the platform.
• Delivered multiple customer-facing capabilities from idea to production.
• Improved the quality, scalability, and maintainability of our systems.

What we're looking for

• A genuine passion for building software.
• Experience building production web applications and APIs.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• A desire to own problems from start to finish.

Nice to have

• Startup experience.
• Payments or fintech experience.
• Experience with Symfony, React, AWS, Docker, or Terraform.
