About AIVA

AIVA is building the intelligence layer for hotels. The average property runs a dozen disconnected systems — booking, CRM, revenue management, guest messaging, reviews — and none of them understand the hotel as a whole. AIVA connects that data into a system that reasons across it in real time: spotting opportunities, predicting problems, and using agents to act on them autonomously.

We're a two-person founding team — Lucia (CEO, from a resort-operator family) and Paula (CTO, who built the decisioning IP this role extends in adtech) — backed by 645 Ventures and Comma Capital with $1.5M pre-seed. We're live in our first properties now, and the next few hires decide how it scales.

About the role

Every property AIVA onboards means new data pipelines — booking systems, CRMs, review platforms, wifi, capacity — and you'll own that layer end-to-end, working directly with our CTO and a senior ML platform engineer. Your pipelines feed the model that decides what to offer every guest at every property we serve. It's a fast, high-volume role: we ship daily, and you'll own things far earlier than you would anywhere larger.

What you'll own

• Build the feature pipelines that turn raw booking events into the feature vectors our models consume at inference.

• Ship the weekly foundation-model batch job that turns raw review text into per-property sentiment features.

• Own data quality — schema validation, freshness monitoring, alerting — so we catch a stale feed before the model does.

• Build internal tooling that makes our data inspectable: exactly what the model saw for any given booking.

What we're looking for

Required

• A recent CS/data degree or 0–2 years of hands-on experience; fundamentals matter more than years.

• Strong Python and fluent SQL (window functions, CTEs, a basic sense of query planning).

• Experience with third-party APIs — REST, webhooks, pagination, rate limits, retries. This is 60% of the job on day one.

• Shipped something end-to-end without a full spec: a side project, internship deliverable, hackathon, or open-source contribution.

• An ownership mindset — you fix what's broken and ask good questions when you're unsure.

Preferred

• Built something 0→1 in a startup, high-ownership internship, or founder-led environment.

• Curiosity about ML infrastructure and interest in growing toward ML engineering.

• Interest in hospitality, travel, or applied AI.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: $85,000–$135,000, plus early-employee equity.
