About AIVA
AIVA is building the intelligence layer for hotels. The average property runs a dozen disconnected systems — booking, CRM, revenue management, guest messaging, reviews — and none of them understand the hotel as a whole. AIVA connects that data into a system that reasons across it in real time: spotting opportunities, predicting problems, and using agents to act on them autonomously. You'd join at the point where the next few hires decide how it scales.
About the role
You'll be one of AIVA's first engineers, working directly with our CTO to own the ML platform behind every offer decision we make — the models, the real-time serving, and the experiments that prove it drives revenue. It's a role for someone who's shipped model-driven decisioning systems in production and wants to own one end-to-end. Your work will be visible: every offer sent to every guest at every property we onboard passes through the pipeline you will be working on.
What you'll own
-
Own the prediction layer end-to-end: training, retraining cadence, feature engineering, cold-start, and drift monitoring across a growing property portfolio.
-
Build and scale the real-time decisioning service that combines model scores, business constraints, and foundation-model reasoning under a sub-second budget.
-
Own the foundation-model layer: prompt engineering, structured outputs, evaluation, and cost/latency/quality trade-offs across providers.
-
Design the experimentation infrastructure — holdouts, A/B tests, uplift — that proves incremental revenue property by property.
What we're looking for
Required
-
3+ years shipping production ML or ML-adjacent backend systems, ideally in adtech, performance marketing, e-commerce personalization, or marketplace matching.
-
Built or operated real-time decisioning systems on tight latency budgets: feature stores, low-latency inference, candidate filtering, business-rule layers.
-
Strong Python and comfort across the modern ML/data stack.
-
Thrived as an early owner in a small, fast team, building something 0→1 — you scope your own work and ship without a spec.
-
Interest in hospitality and physical-world operations problems.
Preferred
-
Background at a DSP, retargeting platform, or performance-marketing infra team (The Trade Desk, Criteo, Xandr, Moloco, AppLovin, or similar).
-
Experience with contextual bandits, uplift modeling, or recommender systems.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary: $165,000–$195,000, plus meaningful founding-level equity.
How we hire
Email hello@aivatech.xyz with your resume and a few lines on the hardest real-time or decisioning system you've shipped. No cover letter needed. Apply even if your background doesn't line up point-for-point — the adtech-to-hospitality leap means the best person may have taken an unconventional path.
