We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Buyer specializing in Kitchen and Bar products to join our team at Bespoke Post. As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in curating unique products that will engage our customer base to drive revenue across our shop and membership programs.
Working closely with the DMM you will be responsible for conducting market research, balancing your OTB, negotiating product costs, identifying trends, and sourcing unique and high-quality products that align with our brand aesthetic. Your expertise in the Kitchen and Bar space will be invaluable in identifying small brands, artisans, and suppliers that can offer our customers an exceptional experience.
In addition, you will also collaborate with our site merchandising, creative, and marketing departments to develop compelling product presentations and marketing strategies. Your understanding of consumer behavior and product performance will guide you in optimizing product assortments and maximizing sales potential.
To excel in this role, you must possess excellent negotiation skills and have a keen eye for detail. You will need to establish strong relationships with vendors and maintain open lines of communication to ensure timely and accurate product delivery.

You will:

  • Develop product assortment strategy plans
  • Research and select products to include in the company’s assortment, taking into account customer preferences, industry trends, and budget constraints.
  • Fully own and manage a given category: Monitor and manage the performance of the specific product category, analyze sales data to identify potential new brands to stock, and ensure that all product listings are up-to-date and accurate
  • In some cases manage the day-to-day support of an MA or Assistant Buyer
  • Identifying new vendors and product sources: Research potential vendors and product sources and make recommendations to buyers on the best options for the company
  • Manages inventory levels and reorders as necessary: Track inventory levels to ensure that the company is not overstocked or understocked, and make recommendations for ordering additional inventory as needed.
  • Manage promotional programs: For new and existing products, such as discounts, Perks, MAP breaks, etc.
  • Analyze sales performance data to make purchasing decisions: Track sales performance data to identify trends and make recommendations to buyers on changes to the product assortment.
  • Maintain a financial budget, ensure order accuracy, and on-time delivery of goods.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of category collections and update the product listings as needed.
  • Partner with PL counterparts to develop and manage seasonal line plans, chase products, and re-order
  • Maintain close partnership with Box counterpart to share resources, and brands and leverage negotiations
  • Own ideation and management of collaboration and exclusives for owned categories
  • Special Projects
  • Work out of our New York City office 3 days per week

The ideal candidate:

  • 5+ years experience in buying, preferably within Kitchen & Bar
  • Has a “no task is beneath me” attitude - you’re willing to roll up your sleeves to complete work as needed.
  • Can thrive in a startup environment with frequent, regularly scheduled deadlines. You’re flexible and can adapt to shifting goals, plus skilled at handling a wide variety of tasks.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to influence decisions based on insights.
  • Must have extension negotiation experience
  • Passionate about product and possess a customer-centric mindset

Bonus points for:
