As a Director, Solution Product Management, AI, you will define how customers and partners understand, adopt, and gain value from Nearmap’s AI-driven products. You’ll ensure our AI capabilities are intuitive, clearly positioned, and aligned to real customer workflows, while shaping the strategic direction for how Nearmap’s intelligence evolves in the market. You will drive adoption by guiding how AI insights are packaged, communicated, and delivered across key industries such as insurance, government, commercial, and AEC. Working closely with customers, data science, engineering, and product teams, you’ll play a central role in making Nearmap’s AI-powered intelligence accessible, relevant, and indispensable.
Key Responsibilities
Build and Prioritize the AI Roadmap
- Set the long-term strategic direction for Nearmap AI, aligning roadmap decisions with customer demand, industry standards, and future product opportunities.
- Collaborate with engineering, data science, and architecture teams to shape AI capabilities that align with customer needs, strengthen key workflows, and support broader product strategy.
- Identify areas where our AI products can be strengthened and guide enhancements that deliver the greatest customer value and market impact.
Documentation & Standards
- Ensure all API and integration documentation meet Nearmap’s standards for clarity, accuracy, and usability.
- Partner with technical writers, engineering, and developer experience teams to validate that documentation enables smooth adoption of Nearmap APIs and integrations.
- Advocate for a consistent, high-quality documentation strategy that reinforces Nearmap’s reputation for simplicity, ease of use, and customer trust.
Monitoring & KPIs
- Define and track KPIs for APIs and integrations, including usage, adoption, performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Partner with analytics and engineering teams to build dashboards and reporting that provide visibility into adoption and impact.
- Use insights from metrics to inform roadmap decisions and prioritize improvements.
Key Requirements
Experience
- 8+ years in product management, technical product management, or a related analytical role, ideally building or guiding data, AI, or SaaS products.
- Experience working with AI/ML products, including exposure to LLM-based solutions, model outputs, prompt design, or applied AI workflows.
- Background with geospatial data or computer vision-based AI, with familiarity in how imagery, detections, or spatial intelligence are used in industry workflows.
- Strong understanding of how AI products are adopted in enterprise environments, including considerations for usability, trust, explainability, and workflow fit.
- Ability to translate complex technical capabilities into clear product value, informed by customer feedback, market signals, and competitive landscape analysis.
- Experience working in industries that rely on geospatial or property intelligence: Insurance, AEC, Government, Disaster Management, or PropTech is preferred.
- Comfort collaborating with engineering, data science, and architecture teams to shape requirements, evaluate technical trade-offs, and guide product direction.
Skills
- Strong skills in market research, strategic reasoning, and clear written and verbal communication, especially when explaining complex AI concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to interpret and analyze data using tools like Excel, Snowflake, SQL, or similar platforms to inform product decisions and evaluate AI performance trends.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, including LLMs, model outputs, prompt patterns, evaluation methods, or workflow integration of AI insights.
- Understanding of geospatial software, computer vision concepts, or spatial data workflows, and how these are applied within industry-specific use cases.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, data science, and architecture teams, and to rapidly build working knowledge of complex technical areas.
- Strong product intuition and the ability to identify opportunities to improve or evolve AI capabilities based on customer needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics.
- Some level of technical skill be it light coding, SQL analysis, or other.

- Clear communicator who can translate technical topics into business-relevant language.
Tertiary Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
