Clerq started with the $1T+ U.S. auto vertical, where it's already powering payments for several of the most recognized brands in the industry. With proven traction, the company has expanded into high-growth adjacencies including powersports, home & office and private travel.
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for someone with significant experience in enterprise sales with expertise in payments and/or automotive retail. You should be a self-starter who is excited to learn about the ins-and-outs of our products and the unique pain points that our customers face.
This role will be based in our headquarters in NYC, but you should be ready to travel frequently to meet in-person with potential enterprise customers and attend relevant industry events.
About the role:
In this role, you will:
Lead our business development efforts targeting the top 150 auto dealership groups in the U.S.
Generate new and creative business ideas within the auto, powersports and equipment verticals.
Understand the specifics of how our product works and be able to articulate Clerq's value proposition within the broader payments ecosystem
Navigate complex enterprise sales involving multiple stakeholders
Prepare materials and presentations for both in-person and zoom meetings with prospects
Develop and execute account plans spanning multiple locations / business units across complex organizations

Contribute to the direction of our company by sharing feedback from the market with our product and customer success teams
Qualifications
7+ years of sales experience, preferably within auto and/or payments
Based in NYC and excited to come into the office
Comfortable traveling as-needed to meet with prospects
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Ability to build rapport and develop relationships with potential clients
Self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills
Proficiency with CRM software and sales tools.
Compensation
Base salary: $130,000-150,000 based on experience. Uncapped commission with expected OTE $190,000+. Employee compensation also includes equity incentives and certain benefits. Final offer terms are based on multiple factors including experience and skills, and may potentially vary from the amounts initially listed.
