How you will make an impact:

As Iterable expands, we are creating an Engineering Center of Excellence in Portugal and are seeking a seasoned and enthusiastic Site Leader to drive this expansion. You will play a major role in delivering technology by building and managing a team of high-performing software engineers. You will develop technologies with a long-term outlook, build for scale & security, and establish trust with the engineering teams and colleagues from all areas of the business. We are seeking a leader with a history of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

In this role you’ll get to:

Provide ongoing leadership of Iterable’s onsite Engineering
Collaborate with global engineering and product leaders, other cross-functional colleagues, and leadership across all Iterable locations
Expand, lead, manage, nurture, and inspire the software engineering teams that span multiple product areas
Oversee and guide the design and delivery of multiple products
Define and manage a set of key performance indicators across the product delivery lifecycle; drive outcomes for our business by setting goals and actions against these KPIs
Support our ambitious growth goals by recruiting the best talent to further strengthen our teams
Ensure a productive, inspirational, and modern work environment for our teams
Encourage a growth mindset with continuous learning and improvement of our processes
Build Iterable's engineering brand by proactively following software engineering industry trends, and being an enthusiastic Iterable advocate both in the local community and worldwide
Host and attend community technology events to network and build Iterable’s local brand
Build a strong local engineering culture that aligns with Iterable's core values
Be the engineering representative to help close deals and attend customer calls to handle incidents
Be the engineering representative for local internships and university recruitment
Champion local team building, hackathon, all hands, performance reviews, and calibration in partnership with local and global eng leadership leaders
Travel to the US for technical leadership meetings 2-3 times per year

We are looking for people who have:

Relevant experience as a software engineering leader/architect with experience in enterprise and/or consumer SaaS and mobile application development
Proficiency with our tech stack and ability to coach and mentor teams using this tech stack
Deep experience using AWS infrastructure to deliver SaaS applications
Seasoned leader with a minimum of 10+ years of related experience managing the software delivery process end-to-end
Engineering leader, ideally responsible for a mid-sized area or department (30+ people) with proven track record to grow a site to 100+ people
Proven track record of working for a US-based technology company focused on software product development (ideally, with some tenure in USA)
Experience as the lead engineering representative to help close deals and attend customer calls to handle incidents
Highly analytical, data-driven and process-oriented mindset
You strive in a culture of innovation, exploring new ideas, and living outside your comfort zone
Leadership and interpersonal communication experience in working across many disciplines with internationally dispersed teams
Strong written and verbal communication. You can distill key points out of complex technical descriptions to share with non-technical stakeholders, adapting your language and style of communication depending on the audience.
Fluency in English (verbal and written); Bonus: fluency in Portuguese.
