About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join our Finance team.
This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely processing of payroll for
employees across Austria, Belgium, India, and Sweden. The ideal candidate will possess a strong
technical accounting background, expert knowledge of international payroll compliance, and a proven
ability to reconcile payroll general ledger accounts and resolve complex payroll and tax issues. This
position will be reporting to the Global Payroll Manager located in United States.
What You’ll Do
1) Manage and execute the end-to-end processing of payroll for employees by utilizing systems
such as BambooHR, etc., as well as communications with local payroll providers.
2) Prepare and post complex payroll journal entries, ensuring accurate allocation across
departments and cost centers.
3) Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliation of all payroll-related GL accounts.
4) Identify opportunities for process efficiencies and implement best practices to improve the
accuracy and scalability of the payroll function.
5) Research and resolve complex payroll, tax, and deduction inquiries from employees, HR, and
external vendors (e.g., benefits administrators, tax authorities).
What the Role Requires
1) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
2) 2+ years of progressive experience in end-to-end payroll processing, preferably for a
global organization.
3) Proficiency in standard business software suites, including Google Workspace (Sheets,
Docs).
4) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, data manipulation)
for reporting and analysis.
5) Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP principles as they relate to payroll accounting, accruals,
and General Ledger (GL) reconciliation
6) Proven history of high accountability and exercising discretion when handling confidential
data.
7) Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to data accuracy.
8) Possess a strong work ethic, professional demeanor, and a positive, solution-oriented
attitude.
9) Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, work efficiently under pressure, and
consistently meet strict payroll deadlines.
10) Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with employees,
vendors, and management.
11) Proven ability to work independently and proactively manage tasks with minimal supervision.
12) A highly collaborative team player capable of building strong working relationships across
Finance, HR, and other departments.
