About CloudBees

CloudBees enables enterprises to deliver scalable, compliant, and secure software, empowering developers to do their best work.

Seamlessly integrating into any hybrid and heterogeneous environment, CloudBees is more than a tool—it's a strategic partner in your cloud transformation journey, ensuring security, compliance, and operational efficiency while enhancing the developer experience across your entire software development lifecycle. It allows developers to bring and execute their code anywhere, providing greater flexibility and freedom through fast, self-serve, and secure workflows.

CloudBees supports organizations at every step of their DevSecOps journey, whether using Jenkins on-premise or transitioning software delivery to the cloud. We’re helping customers build the future, today.

About the role

CloudBees is evolving beyond traditional UI to create "invisible" and headless software experiences. We are looking for a Staff UX Designer (AI-Native Systems) with a strong technical foundation to help us define how these intelligent systems operate in the background.

This is a highly collaborative role designed for a "team-first" practitioner. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team - alongside Design Leads, Product, and Engineering - to translate complex AI logic into predictable, high-value user flows. Reporting to the Product Design Manager, you will be a key contributor to our AI strategy, ensuring our designs are both technically feasible and aligned with our broader product vision.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborative AI-Native Design: Partner with Design Leads, Product, and Engineering to define the UX for headless interfaces, ensuring the platform remains intuitive even when operating autonomously.
  • Support Technical Integration: Serve as a bridge between AI and Engineering, translating abstract capabilities into practical user flows.
  • Systems Contribution: Identify and design new patterns for the CloudBees design system that specifically address AI interactions and conversational UI.
  • Prototyping & Implementation: Build functional prototypes -utilizing tools like Claude Code to accelerate development - while working closely with Product and Engineering to ensure AI-native designs are performant and production-ready.
  • Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Foster a culture of learning by sharing best practices in prompt engineering and AI design with junior members of the design team.
  • Iterative Alignment: Actively participate in design reviews and cross-functional syncs, incorporating feedback from leadership to ensure a cohesive experience across the platform.

Requirements

  • Developer Background: Mandatory. You have professional experience in software development and are comfortable working within a production codebase. You understand the architectural logic behind the designs you create.
  • Git Proficiency: Required. You are fluent in Git workflows (branching, pull requests, version control) and will manage your work directly within our repositories.
  • Collaborative Mindset: You value team success over individual autonomy. You take direction well, thrive on feedback, and enjoy working closely with other disciplines.
  • Systems Thinking: Proven ability to design for logic-driven systems where the user experience is often powered by automated processes rather than traditional UI components.
  • Professional Communication: You can effectively communicate technical constraints to designers and design objectives to engineers, keeping all stakeholders aligned.

Preferred (not mandatory):

  • Experience with LLMs, autonomous agent frameworks, or prompt orchestration.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, or enterprise developer tools.
  • Experience contributing to or maintaining large-scale design systems.

Working Conditions

  • Standard working hours: [Insert, e.g., 9:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., Mon–Fri, or as per business needs]
  • Work location / travel expectations: [Onsite/Remote/Hybrid, % of travel if required]
  • Reasonable accommodations will be considered in line with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
