• You avoid ownership of large, complex systems and prefer narrow, isolated tasks

• You shy away from mentoring or supporting less experienced engineers
• You wait for direction rather than proactively identifying technical improvements

✅ What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure backend services powering our healthcare platform
• Own the full lifecycle of features: design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and improvement
• Drive continuous integration and deployment across the platform
• Contribute to innovation and ongoing performance optimization
• Ensure code quality with peer reviews, testing, and strong development practices
• Collaborate with internal and external partners on integrations (EHR, billing, accounting systems)
• Implement and uphold security and compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC 2, OWASP best practices)
• Document workflows, share knowledge, and strengthen engineering practices across the team

🧠 We’re Looking For Someone Who…

• Is fluent in modern backend programming languages and frameworks (Python, TypeScript, etc.)
• Has experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS preferred) to build scalable SaaS solutions
• Brings strong database skills in SQL (e.g., Postgres) and NoSQL systems
• Brings deep knowledge of secure coding practices (OWASP)
• Is confident building and integrating APIs for interoperability (FHIR, HL7 a plus)
• Spots and solves complex technical problems with scalability and performance in mind
• Understands secure coding practices and compliance in healthcare or other regulated industries
• Communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Mentors junior engineers and contributes to a strong engineering culture
• Thrives in a fast-moving environment with high ownership

🌍 Additional Notes

• This role will require occasional travel to the USA and Canada for on-site campaigns, team collaboration, and brand activations. All travel will be coordinated and supported by the Meroka team.
