Student-Athlete Success Coaches will guide and support young student-athletes through a highly personalized scholarship experience at Overtime Elite, with a strong focus on college readiness and tailored learning. In this role, you will deliver individualized support to help students reach their learning goals in alignment with OTE Academy standards, curriculum partners, and NCAA rules and regulations.
What you’ll do:
- Provide individualized support in course completion management, time management, organization, note-taking, studying, and test-taking strategies for assigned caseload/team, ranging from 5-8 students per success coach
- Monitor and report student athlete progress and eligibility concerns to internal (leadership, coaches, etc.) and external (parent, guardians, etc.) stakeholders
- Monitor and track graduation and NCAA eligibility requirements in collaboration with OTE compliance and eligibility staff
- Responsible for early intervention and action plans for academic performance concerns
- Collaborate with curriculum provider, coaches, and administrators to support student success
- Create a positive and supportive environment that fosters academic success
- Communicate regularly with leadership, Subject Virtual and compliance staff at OTE.
- Attend mandatory training with the curriculum provider, compliance, etc.
- Travel with assigned team/case load to provide success coaching support on the road
Who you are:
- Experience working with amateur or young professional athletes
- Experience in coaching or familiarity with basketball coaching model
- Familiarity in college athletics by having worked in athletic administration or by being a previous student athlete yourself
- Familiarity with online learning platforms
- Demonstrated experience working with students and athletes in an educational environment
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong positive attitude towards teamwork and student success
- Excitement about the future of secondary education, online learning platforms, and building with our next generation of leaders on and off the court
