Job summary

The Product Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies, in collaboration with the Director, Customer Lifecycle Marketing, to effectively promote and position Slope’s products in the market. This role involves creating and executing go-to-market strategies, leading product launches, and informing impactful marketing campaigns. It partners closely with the marketing, sales, product, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and consistency across the organization. Key responsibilities include conducting in-depth market research, crafting compelling customer communications, supporting sales enablement with targeted materials, and using customer insights to refine marketing approaches. To be successful in this role, candidates must possess excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape. Leverage insights to inform product development and marketing strategies.
  • Strategic Alignment: Partner closely with the product team to synchronize marketing initiatives with the software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring seamless execution of marketing campaigns in line with product releases.
  • Campaign Management: Provide guidance on product positioning and campaign strategies based on a deep understanding of the product, target personas, and market competition. Drive product awareness through strategic content distribution and social media. Partner with the Director, Customer Lifecycle Marketing to design and implement bottom-of-the-funnel, persona-based nurture campaigns and account-based marketing efforts.
  • Go-to-Market Strategies: Assist in the creation and execution of go-to-market plans tailored to different product launch tiers for new products and features.
  • Customer-Centric Messaging: Collaborate with the product team to link product features with customer benefits and needs, shaping effective marketing campaigns that resonate with target audiences.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work collaboratively with sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure that product marketing efforts align with customer expectations and experiences.
  • Customer Communications: Partner with the product team to create customer communications for new product releases.
  • Sales Enablement: Work with the sales team to develop product collateral, including data sheets, case studies, infographics, and competitive positioning materials. Support the creation of sales presentations and messaging.
  • Content Development: Collaborate with the Content Marketing Manager to generate engaging content, such as blogs, whitepapers, and videos, that bolster marketing initiatives.
  • Customer Insights and Feedback: Support the product team in collecting and analyzing customer feedback to guide product enhancements and refine marketing approaches.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, business, or related field or equivalent work experience in related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on B2B product marketing experience in the SaaS industry.
  • Experience in assisting with the development and implementation of product positioning and messaging strategies.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in marketing automation and CRM tools.
  • Knowledge of SEO, SEM, and digital marketing best practices.
  • Familiarity with market research techniques to gather insights and inform marketing strategies.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and contribute to the development of strategic marketing plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, follow through, and manage multiple projects and deadlines independently within a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to effectively communicate with and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA in marketing or related business degree
  • Experience in clinical research or life sciences
