YOUR MISSION
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the end-to-end design, analysis, and development of propulsion systems for advanced satellites, ensuring mission requirements are met.
- Oversee the integration, testing, and qualification of propulsion systems, including hardware-in-the-loop and system-level testing.
- Develop and implement novel propulsion technologies and architectures to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Conduct performance analysis and simulations of the propulsion system.
- Drive system-level trade studies to select optimal propulsion technologies based on mission objectives and constraints.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including structures, avionics, and thermal, to ensure seamless integration of propulsion subsystems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in the design, development, and testing of spacecraft propulsion systems.
- Expertise in propulsion system modeling and analysis tools, and the ability to create your own analysis tools.
- Ability to lead complex engineering projects with multiple stakeholders, meeting deadlines and deliverables.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience with chemical propulsion systems.
- Knowledge of CAD tools such as SolidWorks for propulsion system design.
- Hands-on experience with propulsion test setups, including vacuum chamber testing and instrumentation.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment or a similarly dynamic setting.
- Ability to maintain or obtain TS/SCI clearance
COMPENSATION
- Base Salary: $115,000-$140,000
- Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job related knowledge and skills, education, location and experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work Location—this role will be remote until the launch of our LA factory in early 2025. While we observe a hybrid work environment, some work must be done on site.
- Work environment—the work environment; temperature, noise level, inside or outside, or other factors that will affect the person's working conditions while performing the job.
- Physical demands—the physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting and driving.
